TAL(Division 2): Gameweek 5 Preview

Supernova FC
Supernova FC have been in brilliant form having conceded only 3 goals in the league

Division 2 reaches its mid-way mark as teams find out where exactly they stand with regards to their competition. At this stage of the season, Parikrma and Supernova FC look to be the favourites to land the title but Diablos FC and Athlos United cannot be counted out, given that they are only three points behind the top two.

The rest of the teams other than FK FC have all picked up wins and will be jostling it out for a top half finish. With the mid league break coming up next week, teams will be looking to go into the break on a high, so we should be in for an exciting day of matches.

8:30 AM – FC Brunton v Phoenix FC

Gameweek 5 kicks off with FC Brunton playing Phoenix FC. FC Brunton are have hit a lean patch after a promising start to the season; with losses in the last two games they will need to get their act together to live up to pre-season hopes.

Phoenix are now in 9th position and cannot afford to have any more results like Gameweek 4. Though they have a number of exciting talents in their squad, the team is finding it difficult to gel on the field.

Crystal Ball: FC Brunton 2- 1 Phoenix FC

10:00 AM – Athlos United FC v Parikrma

Next up, the headliner for the day features Parikrma and fellow title hopefuls Athlos United. Both teams are in fine form and should make for an exciting game to watch, given the high stakes at hand.

Defeat in this game would almost certainly put the title out of Athlos’ reach while Parikrma will be looking to stay put at the top of the table, given the hot pursuit on their tails.

Crystal Ball: Athlos United FC 2-3 Parikrma

11:30 AM – Warriors FC v Diego FC

The final game before lunch sees Warriors FC go up against Diego FC. Diego FC picked up their first points of the season after a good victory over FC Brunton last week. This also helped them climb above Warriors in the table, who are in 8th position.

Warriors meanwhile were outplayed by Supernova last week and will be looking to bounce back from that defeat. This should be a tight game, but Diego FC will coast to victory if the Warriors do not sort out their defensive woes.

Crystal Ball: Warriors FC 1- 2 Diego FC

1:15 PM- FK FC v Supernova FC

Supernova FC will be looking to quell FK FC’s challenge in the first game of the afternoon session. On paper, this should be a routine victory for Supernova, who have been in scintillating form but an FK FC side slowly coming together could prove tricky.

FK FC are looking to get off the mark and but it remains to be seen if the FK FC defence can handle the pace and swagger of the Supernova FC.

Crystal Ball: FK FC 1- 3 Supernova FC

2:45 PM- Netbusters v Diablos FC

Gameweek 5 proceedings come to a close when Netbusters take on Diablos FC. This should be another tight game with which will probably be decided by what squad both teams field on the day.

These are evenly matched teams, but Diablos can be expected to edge past their rivals given the form they are in. Netbusters meanwhile need to recover from last week’s defeat to Athlos United and will know for sure that such a performance will only spell a defeat for them

Crystal Ball: Netbusters 1 - 2 Diablos FC
