The Footy Mumble: Balotelli's daddy issues, Wenger's a voyeur

Balotelli shoved by Mancini

Mancini’s troubles with his strikers never seem to end. If it was Tevez first, with his refusal to train at Bayern Munich last year, now it seems Balotelli has taken over.

Unhappy with being left on the bench, and only appearing in the 85th minute, Balotelli, allegedly, commented angrily at Mancini while leaving the pitch, who in turn shoved the striker down the tunnel.

And this after Balotelli claimed Mancini was like a father to him.

Talk about having daddy issues!

Always the victim

Steven Gerrard has claimed that Luis Suarez keeps getting punished by referees because they have it in their mind that he is a diver. The midfielder says referees should not let the past affect their decision. He even went on to claim Valencia’s penalty was cheating!

What was that phrase again? The boy who cried wolf?

Blackburn target Alan Shearer to replace Kean

Blackburn owners Venky’s seem to have an aversion to success it seems, what with their confounding logic of sacking a manager when he seems to be doing well.

First was Sam Allardyce who was sacked while doing pretty well, considering the state of the club then. And now his successor, Steve Kean seems to be on the way out as well.

Which would have been very welcome half a year back, when Rovers were battling relegation. Now that Kean has done well so far in the Championship, he may be sacked too.

And if reports are to be believed, Kean will be replaced by Alan Shearer, who’s best moment as manager was leading Newcastle to the Championship, from the Premier League!

Walcott wants to be Arsenal legend

Theo Walcott has confirmed his desire to stay on at Arsenal, despite his contract talks stalled by the forward’s wage demands.

The winger has less than a year to run on his contract, and Arsene Wenger hasn’t even started the player this season.

And yet Walcott says he wants to become an Arsenal legend.

Money AND Legend status at Arsenal? The more likely outcome of this saga is a walk down the well-trodden road to the Etihad stadium from the Emirates stadium.

Arsene defends Mourinho

Arsene Wenger has come out in support of Jose Mourinho, who was criticised for dropping Sergio Ramos from the team against Man City last week and playing youngster Raphael Varane instead.

The Gunners boss said Mourinho was justified in his decision if Ramos was not performing up to the mark. He also called Varane an exeptional talent.

Looks like Wenger’s ‘voyeurism’ has resurfaced again!
