Manchester United were back to winning ways in the Premier League, this time with a 2-0 win over Burnley at Turf Moor. It was plain sailing for the Red Devils as Anthony Martial and Wayne Rooney, who came into the lineup in place of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcus Rashford, got the goals for the visitors. It was a much-needed win for Manchester United as it consolidated their bid for a top-four finish.
United got the early breakthrough with the help of a clinical finish by Anthony Martial in the 21st minute of the game. The goal also meant that Manchester United will have to pay $10 million to Monaco as it meant that Martial now has 25 goals in all competitions (more on that later).
Rooney added the second for Manchester in the 39th Min, assisted by none other than Martial, who looked in ominous form in the game. The move began with the world’s most expensive player and dab merchant Paul Pogba, who dribbled the ball through two defenders and passed it to Martial.
The goal was a shot in the arm for Rooney and United, as the club captain has a huge role to play from now to the end of the season with Ibrahimovic being out till the end of the season.
