In a rare incident, Bayer Leverkusen were awarded a freak goal when Stefan Kiessling‘s header hit the side netting of the goal, but found a way inside it through a hole.

In their Bundesliga clash against Hoffenheim on Friday, Leverkusen’s Stefan Kiessling rose up in the air in the 70th minute to take a near perfect header but hit the side netting. The player held his head in dismay, but the ball found a way inside the goal through a gap.

The referee, Felix Byrch, couldn’t spot that the ball had gone outside the post and allowed the goal to stand, giving Leverkusen a 2-0 lead. The match ended 2-1 in their favour.
