Manchester United had an extended break as a result of their lack of FA Cup football this past weekend. Manager David Moyes had them jetting off to Dubai, United Arab Emirates for a mid-season training camp. Such trips are common for other European football sides but a rarity for an English side.
United fans will be hoping that the training camp gives United players much needed physical and mental boost to help turnaround their season, which is currently heading for a disaster. They do have Champions League football to look forward to, but automatic qualification looks increasingly difficult.
Dubai always attracts stars, and the football industry was no different. Last week images surfaced of Maradona’s visiting the United training camp, and now this video seems to be going ‘viral’. Two of the greats of their respective generations, Diego Maradona and Robin Van Persie engaged in a small game of football juggling, much to the adulation of onlookers and fans all across the World.
