Video: Wins for Augsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga

FC Augsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt picked up their first points of the new Bundesliga season on Sunday (August 25) – ensuring in the process that the search for a point continues for VfB Stuttgart and Eintracht Braunschweig respectively.

In the Bundesliga Augsburg took the lead after just five minutes at home to Stuttgart, Halil Altintop tapping home from close range.

Augsburg, who avoided relegation by just three points last season, doubled their advantage in the 36th minute when Jan Callsen-Bracke headed in a free-kick.

Stuttgart were handed a lifeline in the 42nd minute when Alexandru Maxim was brought down – Vedad Ibisiveic stepped up to make it 2-1.

Ibrahima Traore was sent off for Stuttgart and 2-1 it finished, the pressure on head coach Bruno Labbadia increases.

In Sunday’s early game, newly-promoted Eintracht Braunschweig were beaten by Eintracht Frankfurt.

Eintrecht Frankfurt made the breakthrough in the 52nd minute through Alexander Meier’s deflected effort.

And Stefan Aigner capatilised on an error to make it 2-0, lifting them to 11th in the Bundesliga table.
