Villa wants £14million move out of Camp Nou

Reports suggest that Barcelona striker, David Villa has his heart set on a move to the Emirates, after deciding to leave Camp Nou.

Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger was unable to sign the 31-year-old Spanish international during the winter transfer. But with just 1 year left on his contract with Spanish club, Arsenal may be able to acquire the player for less than the £16million quoted in January.

Villa was unable to secure a spot in the first team last season, following an long-term injury. But he still managed to score 10 goals in just 15 competitive starts. The Spanish national team’s top-scorer wants to be in a team where he could, once again, be the main man.

Villa is on £110,000-a-week deal at the current La Liga leaders, and Arsenal would not not be asking for much, financially at least, by signing David Villa, who could move for close to £14million in the summer. Although Wenger will have to rethink his policy of offering one-year deals for players above 30.

The signing of the Spanish star, with a possible three or four-year deal, would help to appease the Gunner fans.

Arsenal have gone seven seasons without any silverware as players like Robin Van Persie, Samir Nasri, Gael Clichy and Cesc Fabregas have left the club in search of fortune elsewhere.
