India defender Gouramangi Sing has full faith in IMG-Reliance to resolve the deadlock with I-League clubs so that he and other IMG-R contracted players are able to play in Indian football’s top-most domestic competition also.

Gouramangi is one of many marquee Indian players to have joined the new project and on Wednesday, he expressed his confidence in the AIFF’s commercial and marketing partners.

“IMG-Reliance are the (commercial and marketing) partners of the AIFF and a responsible organisation so I am sure whatever plans they have will be better for us. I believe IMG-R are looking at the situation (with I-League clubs) so things should fall in place soon,” Gouramangi told reporters on Wednesday on the sidelines of IMG-R’s ongoing training camp at the Cooperage Stadium in Mumbai.

The 27-year-old defender, who will be joining the rest of the Indian national team squad tomorrow in New Delhi and leave for Tajikistan for the international friendly, is looking forward to play with and against renowned international stars in the IPL tournament.

“We are all optimistic about the new tournament. There will be plenty of good international players and top coaches. So I believe this tournament will be good for us because we will get to learn a lot from the foreign stars,” Gouramangi stated,

The Manipuri, who has represented India 63 times and scored five goals in international football, also gave an insight of their training camp under former East Bengal coach Trevor Morgan.

“It has been really good. We haven’t wasted any time and everyone has been responding very well. It’s pre-season training so everybody is working hard. It’s great to have Trevor Morgan as coach and the facilities are great with a competitive environment. IMG-Reliance must be appreciated for arranging such a camp,” Gouramangi concluded.
