“Bryson DeChambeau is beloved by the fans” – Paige Spiranac says the ‘2 great redemption stories’ at PGA Championship made it an ‘incredible major’

Paige Spiranac praised the winner, Xander Schauffele, and runner-up, Bryson DeChambeau, for their redemption at the PGA Championship. The praise came after the dramatic finish at the season's second major.

Spiranac, who is the most prominent golf social media personality, is known for her opinions on golf. When someone does well, she doesn't shy away from praising that player. This time too, she couldn't stop herself from commending both Schauffele and DeChambeau for their amazing finishes at the PGA Championship.

Following the conclusion of the season's second major, Spiranac tweeted:

"2 great redemption stories at the PGA Championship. Xander was finally able to get it done when it mattered most and Bryson is beloved by the fans. Feel good all around. What a drama packed, incredible major!"

On Sunday, May 19, Xander Scahuffele aggregated at 21-under at the Valhalla Golf Club to win the Wanamaker trophy. This was his first major win and also the first win in more than 22 months. Bryson DeChambeau finished runner-up at one stroke back despite shooting a low 64 in the final round.

Earlier this year, the 30-year-old golf personality shot a YouTube video with DeChambeau, where they played a round of golf and had a fun conversation. Following their meeting, Spiranac accepted that the interaction changed her perception of the golfer.

"But with him like I publicly hated on him," she told Barstool Sports' ForePlay Podcast.

"And things that you just would saw like you'd see little snips here and there about like what he was saying what he was doing, he was so different, shockingly different."

Following a runner-up finish at the PGA Championship, Bryson DeChambeau said he didn't feel he played his best the whole week.

"Felt like I had my "B" game pretty much," he said. "My putting was A+, my wedging was A+, short game was A+, driving was like B. You know, shot 20-under par in a major championship. Proud of myself for the way I handled adversity. Definitely disappointing, but one that gives me a lot of momentum for the rest of the majors."

DeChambeau made a T6 finish at Augusta National last month and now a runner-up finish at Valhalla. Both times, he had a chance to win the major but fell short. However, he expressed hope that he would cross the final hurdle in the remaining two majors of the season.

Bryson DeChambeau will next compete at the LIV Golf Houston, which will take place from June 7 to 9 at the Golf Club of Houston.
