MMA News: Mickey Gall gets his wish! Set to face Sage Northcutt on UFC on Fox 22

Gall leaves Punk in sorrows!

Two young stars in the UFC have caught the attention of the MMA world ever since their respective debuts – Mickey Gall and Sage Northcutt. The two are scheduled to face each other in the cage at UFC on Fox 22. The event is set to take place on December 17th in Golden 1 Center at Sacramento, California.

Gall and Northcutt gained popularity after they made an impact in their fights that were witnessed by Dana White. Both the incidents were shown on 'Dana White: Looking for a Fight', a reality series on UFC's YouTube page.

White and Matt Serra had underestimated young Sage but he was later approached by the duo and was granted a UFC contract. Gall, on the other hand, dominated his opponent in his MMA debut fight, within seconds and called out 'CM Punk' during the post-fight celebration.

This got White interested in him, eventually granting the 24-year-old with a match that he would go on to win and earn him a shot at Punk.

After making a one-sided victory over the former WWE Superstar Gall went on to call out Sage Northcutt, at UFC 203. And after the event, it was revealed by Dana White that Northcutt's team had immediately called White accepting the fight.

Ever since then the two fighters have been going at each other. Gall had also proposed a WWE-style hair vs hair match for the duo’s fight with the loser to shave his head off.

Many fans online have been waiting for the match to turn into a reality.

Northcutt has called Gall a person who fights people the age of a ‘dad’.

Gall is one of the very few guys to fight in the UFC with very little pro experience prior to stepping inside the Octagon, since the start of Zuffa’s ownership of the UFC.
