Max Holloway shoots on Ilia Topuria for sending lengthy message on social media

Max Holloway was left bewildered after a text exchange on social media with Ilia Topuria.

Following his stunning BMF title win over Justin Gaethje at UFC 300, 'Blessed' and 'El Matador' have gone back and forth on social media about a potential featherweight title bout. The pair originally traded Bible verses at one another, before Topuria then opted to write a lengthy paragraph to Holloway, which he decided not to read.

The new BMF champ then appeared on JRE MMA Show this week and discussed his interaction with the UFC 145-pound champ. According to Holloway, Topuria's messages resembled a disgruntled girlfriend. He said:

"This is the guy we're dealing with bro. So we had a bible verse-off on Twitter. Everybody’s saying 10-8 Holloway cause of the verse I used against him and I don't say nothing, that's all I said. And he writes like a freaking paragraph to me. I didn't even read it, that's how long it was. He writes a paragraph to me and I was just tripping out. It was like an angry girlfriend text, you know. Like my wife don't even text me like that."

Ryan Garcia challenges Anthony Joshua to a boxing bout

Ryan Garcia appears to be full of confidence following his impressive performance against Devin Haney last weekend.

After being written off by most of the boxing community due to his erratic behavior before the bout, 'King Ryan' stepped up when it mattered and dominated Haney, dropping him multiple times before getting his hand raised thanks to the judges' scorecards.

The 25-year-old then went live on X earlier this week and demonstrated his new found confidence as he called out Anthony Joshua for a heavyweight bout. According to Garcia, if he pulled off the win, he would no longer be doubted by anybody. He said:

"We want 'AJ' though. I want 'AJ', I want 'AJ'. I want to fight 'AJ', let's go. I'm moving up to heavyweight. Give me about three years, I'm going to beat his a**. Hey, when I knock out 'AJ' what would they say then?... After that, they can't [hate me.] "

Sean Strickland speculates UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones' sexuality

Sean Strickland has aimed at Jon Jones in one of his latest rants on social media.

According to 'Tarzan', who is no stranger to making controversial claims, Jones' erratic behavior and problems with the law in recent years could be due to him being "in the closet". Strickland then rounded off the message by sarcastically claiming support for the UFC star. He wrote:

"You know, it would make sense that Jon Jones is in the closet. Addiction, violence towards women, reckless behavior. Just wait [for] the moment Jones starts f**king his kitty/men openly he's going to be a decent person for the first time in his life Imao. I support you man."
