‘Super’ Sage Northcutt will be gunning for a finish when he makes his highly anticipated return to the circle next month.

Nearly four years removed from his ONE Championship debut, Northcutt will step inside the cage again for a showdown with Pakistani mixed martial arts champion Ahmed Mujtaba.

Recently, ‘Super’ spoke with The MMA Superfan regarding his long-awaited return and what he hopes to accomplish:

“I’m very excited, you know, I’m always looking to go out there and put on a show for the fans,” Northcutt said. “I’m always looking to go out there and win too. I would like to win by a finish, so I’ve just been training really hard and looking forward to it.”

The multi-time karate world champion made his promotional debut in 2019 riding the momentum of a three-fight win streak. Unfortunately, things did not go Northcutt’s way. He suffered a 29-second knockout loss to heavy-hitting Brazilian Cosmo Alexandre. In the aftermath, Northcutt had to undergo nine hours of surgery to repair multiple fractures in his face.

Prepared to move on from his less-than-stellar first impression inside the circle, Sage Northcutt is ready to make a statement at the expense of Ahmed Mujtaba, a fighter who is coming into their ONE Fight Night 10 showdown with a fair amount of momentum and a strong desire to spoil Northcutt’s big comeback.

Mujtaba will go into the matchup riding a two-fight win streak, both coming by way of a first-round finish. The 30-year-old Pakistani standout is 11-2 overall, with four of those victories coming under the ONE Championship banner. With a win over Northcutt, Mujtaba could find himself in line for a top-five opponent.

Amazon Prime Video subscribers can catch ONE Championship’s U.S. debut, ONE Fight Night 10, live and for free on May 5.
