UFC News: Ronda Rousey and Amanda Nunes face off at UFC 205 weigh-ins

She’s back!

New York was in for a big surprise. The UFC decided to do something special for the fans at the UFC 205 weigh-in. After the stare down between Eddie Alvarez and Conor McGregor, Ronda Rousey made her way up to the stage and confronted the UFC Bantamweight champion, Amanda Nunes.

The fans were blown off with the sudden entry of the former champion. The two were involved in an intense stare down in front of the packed arena. The build for the last showdown for this particular calendar year had already begun.

“She’s the fighter I asked for,” Nunes said to Joe Rogan. “I trained for this girl my whole career UFC and now I have the chance to defend my belt against her. It’s gonna be amazing.”

Rousey just stormed out of the stage after the stare down without waiting for Rogan to interview her. Nunes on the other hand, tried to get some fans cheer for her:

“You guys ready for this battle? Oh yeah,” Nunes said to the crowd.

Rousey lost her title to Holly Holm at UFC 193 in a devastating manner which is regarded as the biggest upset in the history of the sport. Since her loss, there have been three new UFC women’s bantamweight champions, and the competition has grown without her being around.

Miesha Tate choked Holm out in the co-main event of UFC 196 which turned out to be one of the best technical women’s matches. Later, Amanda Nunes defeated Miesha in the biggest UFC event to date, UFC 200, to become only the third women’s bantamweight champion.

Ronda Rousey will make her return to try and get her title back when she collides with Amanda Nunes at UFC 207, one day before New Year’s Eve.
