Abraham ignores injury and will race

The Czech MotoGP rider Karel Abraham will race at this weekend’s British MotoGP, even though he has a double fracture to a fingertip. After consultation with his doctors, he decided to go through with the race.

The rider has injured the little finger of his left hand, but says he is still able to race. “I’m leaving to Silverstone on Wednesday after a medical examination,” says Abraham. “We´ll try to put out the splint and we’ll see if the movements with the hand will be painful and if the cut fingers won´t bleed again. I really would like to race at Silverstone.”

Some may say that it is not the most clever decision to race when one is injured, however, the Czech will sacrifice everything to race. “We need to collect more points in championship and I’ll do everything to be at the track. On the other hand, it would be irresponsible to race at all costs, risking that the healing will take longer. There’s now a series of four races, starting with Assen, and it would be really catastrophic to lose these races.” Karel concludes.
