Abraham to be replaced by Battaini in Germany

Ducati Team test rider Franco Battaini will replace Karel Abraham in the Cardion AB Racing team during this weekend’s German Motogp. The Czech rider isn’t able to race yet due to his hand injury.

Abraham sustained a fracture of the 5th and 3rd metacarpal of the left hand and also deep cuts during the test after the Catalunya round. The Czech thought he was already able to race in the Dutch Grand Prix in Assen last weekend but was ruled out because of significant pain after the first practice. Now, he also can’t participate in the German MotoGP duo to his injury.

Franco Battaini will contest the German round in Abraham’s place. The Italian joined the outfit in 2010 and last raced in MotoGP in 2005 on board a V6 Blata-WCM.
