Former world champion Casey Stoner denied rumours regarding his possible return to MotoGP this year, saying he plans to finish the V8 second-tier Dunlop Series. Stoner is racing in the V8 Supercars’ second tier category, after he retired from MotoGP in 2012.

The speculation regarding his possible return to MotoGP started earlier this year when Honda confirmed that he would be testing for them in Japan. Stoner completed a two-day test for his former team this week, riding Honda’s world championship winning RC213V on a prototype 2014 bike.

“It was good to get back on the bike, if only for a few laps. It’s been nine months since I’ve been on a bike and it’s going to take me some time to get used to everything again,” said the two time MotoGP world champion.

He also rubbished rumours about a possible wild card entry saying “this is not something I am planning to do”.
