Second consecutive podium for Karun Chandhok and JRM Racing

When everyone in India was talking about the Indian Grand Prix and the Formula One world championship, former F1 driver and Indian speedster Karun Chandhok was fighting for the podium in Shanghai, China in Six Hours of Shanghai FIA Endurance Championship.

Indian speedster Karun Chandhok and his team kept the momentum going in the final race of the FIA Endurance Championship after finished the race on second place after starting the race from pole position in Six Hours of Shanghai in the privateer class. Karun Chandhok and his teammates at JRM Racing Peter Dumbreck and David Brabham drove a brilliant race at consistent speed and showed how much the team has improved in this season.

The proceedings for the team were started by Karun Chandhok who, after a triple stint of 75 Laps, handed his car to Peter Dumbreck who looked consistent with the lap times. David stepped into the car as the third driver had the duty of taking the car to the chequered Flag which he eventually did after suffering from steering problem. During his stint, David lost a place to Rebellion due to steering problem with just 30 minutes to go until the race finish but he managed to gain one place in privateer class after Rebellion stopped on the penultimate lap of the race. The cars were closely matched and Karun’s JRM Racing finished just 8 seconds behind the class winner.

Karun Chandok: A perfect way to end the season

Ecstatic Karun Chandhok said that this is the perfect way to finish the season on the podium and he enjoyed his first season of endurance racing. Karun added that the team is proud how they have improved the car in this season. About the race Karun Chandhok said that he was getting a good traction initially and had a good straight line speed. He added that when compared with #12 Rebellion and the Strakka they were a bit slow.

Karun Chandok said, “We started off reasonably well and the first couple of laps were okay but we realised early on that we were not quick enough when compared to the #12 Rebellion and the Strakka. I could hold the Strakka back initially as I had pretty good traction and straight line speed, but I got stuck behind a Porsche at the wrong moment and Jonny [Kane] got ahead of me. After that I just found a consistent pace and drove my own race.”
