The Italian Jorge Lorenzo took the pole at Silverstone. In five races Jorge Lorenzo has won three of them and looks to be the favorite to win this year Moto GP championship after defending champion and fellow countrymen Valentino Rossi broke his leg during practice at the Italian Grand Prix.
The Air Asia British Grand Prix was dominated by the Fiat Yamaha rider as he started from pole position and finished the race with 6.743 seconds ahead of Andrea Dovizioso. The Italian has stretched his lead to 37 points over runners up Andrea Dovizioso.

It was the first podium for the Monster Yamaha Tech 3 Ben Spies who is number 7 at the table with 36 points.
Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda) and Jorge Lorenzo fought a tough battle for first place at the start of the race while Randy de Puniet (LCR Honda), Dovizioso (Repsol Honda) and Nicky Hayden (Ducati Marlboro) and Casey Stoner (Ducati Marlboro) were all behind the two race leaders.
It was sad to see ninth place Marco Melandri crashed out on the opening lap but his team mate but Marco Simoncelli had a good race where both the San Carlo Honda Gresini Riders are level with 32 points in the championship.
Stoner was riding well through the course of the race and his lap time was matching the race leader Jorge Lorenzo but he was in eight place and it was far too hard to catch up for a podium finish, he had a good battle with Pedrosa and the Australian eventually took pass Pedrosa on lap 13.
Hayden was riding well throughout the race and till the last lap he was at third place but Spies had other ideas he took over Hayden at Farm Curve to take third, it was a bitter finish for the American.
The Fiat Yamaha Team with 176 points is on top at the constructor’s championship but Repsol Honda Team with 151 points is closing up with both Andrea Dovizioso and Dani Pedrosa in top 3 at the rider’s champions. But the man at the moment is the Italian Jorge Lorenzo now that his team mate Rossi out for two months, who can stop him?
