Aaron Rodgers is among the very best players in the NFL currently but the total number of Super Bowl rings he has is not what many would expect. He is regarded by many as one of the best throwers of the football the world has seen.

Having played in the NFL for 18 years and put up serious numbers, he is a surefire Hall of Fame walk-up.

However, when it comes to Aaron Rodgers' rings, despite all his stats, it leaves a lot to be desired. His 221 NFL games (142 wins), 57,160 passing yards, and 462 touchdowns leave many thinking that the Packers quarterback would have a few Super Bowl rings.

Yet, Aaron Rodgers' ring total isn't what you would expect, given the type of player he is and the level of play he has exhibited over the course of his career.

Having made the playoffs 12 times in his 18-year career, we can be forgiven for thinking that Aaron Rodgers' ring total would be similar to that of Ben Roethlisberger, Eli and Peyton Manning. But the answer may surprise you.

Aaron Rodgers' rings total is not what you would expect

For all the good the Packers superstar has done on the field - fourth quarterback comebacks, ridiculous throws that no other player can make - it has yielded just one Super Bowl ring.

Rodgers' crowning moment came in 2010. The Packers defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-25 at the then-named Cowboys Stadium.

Rodgers threw for 304 yards and three touchdowns in what was a superb display. Green Bay raced out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. At half-time, the Packers were leading 21-10 so they were feeling good about their position.

However, after Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers scored the only touchdown of the third quarter, the nervousness set in. Luckily, Rodgers and the Packers found their groove again to score 10 points in the fourth quarter to hoist the Lombardi trophy as NFL champions.

Still, Aaron Rodgers having just one Super Bowl triumph is surprising given his level of production. Just one ring for Rodgers is what many consider to be the one flaw on what is a stacked resume.

Super Bowl rings is what quarterbacks are judged on at the end of the day. No matter how many NFL MVPs a player has (Rodgers has four), the one Super Bowl ring is the only blight on his record.

Will he add another ring to his total before he retires? It doesn't look like it right now.
