New England Patriots fans and other such rivals would say Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce has a reputation for showing attitude on the football field. This invites plenty of retribution as both sides take shots at each other.

According to NBC Sports Boston (via Yahoo Sports), Kelce is accepting of attacks directed at himself. However, the tight end didn't take kindly to fans verbally attacking his mother in person.

Speaking on the "New Heights" podcast, Kelce explained that he was cool with fans talking smack to him with "your momma" jokes. However, he deemed directing the jokes at his mother directly was not acceptable. He said:

"'Your momma' jokes are cool, just when you say them to me, not my mom. Like when mom’s leaving the stadium, she’s getting heckled. That’s just low blows, man... A lot of people say they go into New England and just get a bad taste in their mouth about Patriots fans."

The incident involving Travis Kelce was not the first time this season that New England fans have verbally pushed their way into the headlines.

Earlier this year, on Monday Night Football, tens of thousands of fans appeared to scream Bailey Zappe into existence. After watching the backup quarterback spark the offense into being competitive in place of an injured Mac Jones, fans were unhappy to see Jones return.

Against the Chicago Bears in Week 7, Jones started by quickly throwing an interception and was soon replaced by Zappe after fans were heard screaming his name. The backup quickly exploded to throw two touchdowns, but ran out of juice as the team lost 33-14.

The following week, Jones was back in the starting role for a showdown against the New York Jets. This time around, the Patriots emerged victorious, defeating the Jets 22-17. Jones threw for 194 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in the contest.

The quarterback will hope to keep New England Patriots fans happy in next week's showdown against the Indianapolis Colts.
