“Brett Favre still big chilling huh!” – Darius Slay rips Packers legend for failing to apologize for Mississippi welfare scandal

Brett Favre is in hot water over his alleged role in misusing welfare money for the development of a volleyball facility. He's taken heat from fans, the media and now players are joining the angry mob. Taking to Twitter, cornerback Darius Slay unloaded two posts targeting the former quarterback of the Green Bay Packers. In one of the posts, he and called out Favre for not apologizing for his actions:

"Brett Favre didn’t issue an apology or nothing.."

In another post, the cornerback claimed the quarterback had no remorse for his actions in using welfare money inappropriately:

"Brett Favre still big chilling huh!! Guess we forgot what he did."

Darius Slay is a former rival of the Green Bay Packers. Between 2013-2019, Slay was a leader in the Detroit Lions' secondary. Known affectionately as "Big play Slay," the cornerback has a reputation for locking down receivers and stifling offenses. In 2020, Slay joined the Philadelphia Eagles and has played with them since. However, it seems he hasn't forgotten his NFC North roots.

Brett Favre was the franchise quarterback for the Packers from 1992-2007. In that time, he reached two Super Bowls, winning one. In his Green Bay career, he went 160-93, throwing for 442 touchdowns and 286 interceptions. In addition to his 16 seasons with the team, Favre also helped mentor his successor, Aaron Rodgers (albeit somewhat begrudgingly).

Rodgers is now approaching the records of his former mentor. However, his rough 2022 campaign has put the task of breaking those records on hold. While he's thrown more touchdowns for the Packers (463), Rodgers is still about 20 wins short of passing his former mentor (142).

Now at 3-6, Rodgers has his work cut out for him. Since being 3-1, Green Bay have lost an incredible five games on the bounce. The first of those losses came to the New York Giants in London. Since then, they have been defeated by the New York Jets, Washington Commanders, Buffalo Bills and the Detroit Lions.

With critics pointing fingers directly at Aaron Rodgers for his role in these defeats, the future looks bleak in Green Bay. Will Rodgers remain relevant long enough to pass Favre for wins, or are we approaching the end of an era?
