Raiders have unique opportunity to ruin holiday weekend for Patrick Mahomes in back-to-back years, analyst notes

Last season, the Las Vegas Raiders spoiled the Kansas City Chiefs' Christmas by earning a victory at Arrowhead by a score of 20-14. It was a big surprise, as the Raiders got a big win against their division rivals while scoring two defensive touchdowns in the game.

Las Vegas will have another opportunity to ruin another holiday weekend for the Chiefs this season. The two teams will meet on Black Friday, a day after Thanksgiving this season, during one of their two divisional matchups.

Marcus Mosher, a writer for Raiderswire.com, wrote about how the Raiders could ruin Kansas City's Black Friday game.

"The Raiders will get another chance to ruin a holiday weekend for the Chiefs in 2024 as they will face off on Black Friday, one day after Thanksgiving," Mosher wrote.
"This will be the second game that the NFL has ever played on Black Friday, with the Jets and Dolphins playing in the inaugural game last year."

In Las Vegas' Christmas victory over Kansas City last year, defensive tackle Bilal Nicols recovered a fumble seven yards for a touchdown, and cornerback Jack Jones picked off a 33-yard pass seven seconds later. The win moved Las Vegas up to 7-8, while the loss lowered the Chiefs to 9-6 at the time.

This year's Black Friday game will be available to stream on Amazon Prime.

The Kansas City Chiefs are fresh off their second straight Super Bowl victory. The Chiefs will look to make history and become the first team in NFL history to win three Super Bowls in a row, after only eight other teams have repeated as Super Bowl champs.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes will also look to add another MVP trophy to his resume, as he won his second league award last season as well as his third Super Bowl MVP.

With key players such as defensive tackle Chris Jones and tight end Travis Kelce as well as head coach Andy Reid, returning, the Chiefs look to be an early contender for the 2024 season.
