Yes, there have been some standout transfers in the form of Lukas Podolski and Xherdan Shaqiri to Inter Milan. However, the Premier League or La Liga have not seen any big money or high profile moves yet.With clubs such as Arsenal, Liverpool and Real Madrid being heavily linked to transfer activity over this window, a big transfer should be right around the corner. From high profile rejects to prized captures, today’s transfer rumour round-up includes players from across Europe.

#1 Liverpool and Chelsea

Marco Reus is being heavily linked with Chelsea

Liverpool are lining up Aston Villa’s Fabian Delph as Steven Gerrard’s replacement for £7.5 million. However, Brendan Rodgers has admitted that Aston Villa’s reluctance on selling him would mean that they would have to wait till the summer.

West Bromwich Albion’s prolific striker, Saido Berahino is stalling on a new contract so that he could move to Liverpool for £20 million. If Berahino decides to stay, he would become the highest paid West Brom player ever.

• Last year Southampton and this year Aston Villa, Brendan Rodgers is looking to empty the key players from Villa Park as he plans to buy Christian Benteke for £15 million. However, Rodgers might fail in his endeavours as the Belgian is priced at £25 million.

Chelsea are looking to sign Borussia Dortmund star, Marco Reus or Manchester United target Juan Cuadrado as there is growing speculation over Andre Schuerlle’s exit from Stamford Bridge.

#2 Arsenal

Arsenal are keen on signing the Southampton midfielder

Arsene Wenger is lining up a bid for Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, after noisy neighbours Tottenham Hotspur turned their attention to Everon midfielder James McCarthy. Tottenham manager, Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that he might lose out on Schneiderlin.

Arsene Wenger’s search for a Centre back will probably end in France as he is on the verge of signing St Etienne defender Loic Perrin. However, it might be a bit more difficult to lure him as the French club just moved into third spot in Ligue 1, ahead of Paris St. Germain.

Sporting Lisbon’s William Carvalho might be moving to the Emirates within a few weeks as Arsenal have launched a £25 million bid for the defensive midfielder.

Yaya Sanogo will be signing for Crystal Palace on loan by the end of the January transfer window, after turning down Hull City.

#3 Manchester City and Manchester United

United to bid £150 million for Bale

After agreeing to a fee for Wilfried Bony, Manchester City have set their sights on free-scoring Lyon striker, Alexandre Lacazette. The fee is being touted to be somewhere around the region of £25 million.

Stefan Jovetic could be on his way out as Juventus want the striker for £ 20 million, joining him on the exit exodus will be Alvaro Negredo, whose loan at Valencia will become permanent for £20 million.

Liverpool target James Milner was left out of the squad for the Everton game prompting speculation, that his move to Anfield is one the verge of happening. However, officials say that he was rested because he picked up a small niggle in training.

Gareth Bale’s apparent tiff with Cristiano Ronaldo could see him leave the club next season Louis Van Gaal’s bid of £150 million will be accepted by Real Madrid. The Dutchman has already broken the British transfer record by signing Angel Di Maria.

United have joined the race to sign Edinson Cavani, along with Arsenal. It is being reported that Van Gaal will bid £62 million for the player. They are being expected to out-power the Gunners to the dotted line.

Messi move on hold as Barcelona confirm he will stay in a turbulent Barcelona

Marc-Andre Ter Stegen is being touted for a move away from the Nou Camp to Liverpool. He was quoted saying, “It's good to be at Barca, but the situation is difficult.” He was brought in last summer for a fee of £9.9 million. Reports suggest that Barcelona are not being able to find a replacement for him.

Lionel Messi’s move to the Premier League with Chelsea seems unlikely to happen. After, the turbulent situation at Barcelona, It was being said that Messi would leave, if a £500 million offer for him was made available. However, it doesn’t seem that it will go through anytime soon as Barcelona confirmed that he will be staying in the Nou Camp.

Januzaj seems headed to Aston Villa on loan

• Newcastle to PSG, that’s happened before. Yes, Moussa Sissoko could be following Yohan Cabaye’s path to Ligue 1 as PSG are planning on a 25 million bid for the midfielder. It is also being said that the midfielder is frustrated over the Magpies not offering him a new contract.

Aston Villa are said to be front-runners to sign Adnan Januzaj on loan this January. Due to the influx of new players, the Belgian has lost his place in the squad and barely makes any appearances. Louis Van Gaal is keen on him getting first team action.

Manchester City are ready to take a financial hit on Scott Sinclair, offloading him for 2.5 million. He was brought in from Swansea for 6 million. Aston Villa and Crystal Palace are being touted as front runners for his signature.
