Commonwealth Games 2014: The Indian medal hopefuls supported by Anglian Medal Hunt Company

With only a weeks to go for the Commonwealth Games, the athletes are doing their best to be match fit. In order to help these athletesbetter prepare for the games, the Anglian Medal Hunt Company (AMHC) is doing a marvellous job. They not only nurture young talent, but also make them competition ready so that they can have a shot at medals. Here are 10 athletes who are supported by AMHC.

#10 Shiva Thapa

The youngest Indian boxer to qualify for Olympics in London and currently ranked no. 3 by AIBA, he is the next thing to watch out for. Already considered in the list of top 50 of the new generation of leaders of India Today, Shiva is also the current Asian Champion.

His credentials also include playing under World Series Boxing (a boxing league under AIBA) and he is the one of the only two Indian boxers to play under a foreign outfit USA Knockouts.

Shiva also represented India in World Boxing Championship, 2013.

#9 Devendro Singh

He is fierce, he is aggressive he is the powerhouse. When he enters the ring, he can dominate his opponent easily. In the trials conducted for CWG 2014, he knocked out his opponent easily. Quarter-finalist in Olympics, 2012, Devendro is also ranked no. 3 by AIBA.

He claimed a Silver in ASBC Asian Boxing Championship last year. Recently, he won the Bocskai Tournament, Hungary. He is one of the prospective medal potentials.

#8 Mandeep Jangra

This mean machine is also called as Kartoos by his mentor boxer Akhil Kumar.Mandeep has the right skill set and attitude to make a mark for himself internationally. He has already played WSB bouts along with his guide Akhil Kumar and represented India at World Boxing Championship, 2013.

Mandeep also clinched a Silver at the 2013 Asian Boxing Championship. At Indias debut in FXTM International Limassol Boxing Cup in2013, Mandeep won the championship.

#7 Sumit Sangwan

Sumit is one of only two boxers to have played in WSB for a foreign outfit USA Knockouts. Hehas also represented India at the London Olympics in 2012. After participating in World Boxing Championship last year, CWG 2014 is the first big boxing event he will be playing in this year.

#6 Manavjit Singh Sandhu

Manavjit is a Former World No.1 trap shooter. He is currently ranked no.3. His credentials include some really noteworthy achievements - Gold in Commonwealth 2010 and the World cup title this year after overcoming two times Olympics champion - Michael Diamond.

#5 Harpreet Singh

Harpreet serves Indian Navy as a sailor and was the double gold medallist shooter at Commonwealth Games 2010. He has been consistently performing well and is a medal contender.

#4 Anisa Sayyed

She won two gold medals in shootingat CWG 2010.Anisa also clinched a silver at sports pistol team event at the 6thAsian Championship 2013. Currently, she is gearing up for CWG 2014 and is looking forward to returning to her territory where she claimed the coveted medal. She is surely in the medal haul.

#3 Malaika Goel

Malaika is just 17 and has made already made headlines as she qualified for CWG 2014.Recently, she also went on to become the youngest Indian female to represent India at the World Cup 2014 and did marvellously well. She finished 6th. She also grabbed a Gold in the Asian Airgun Shooting Championship, 2013.

This girl is all ready to shine.

#2 M.R.Poovamma

Poovamma has already created a niche for herself in the world of Athletics. She has been ranked No.1 in Asia and won Silver in the Asian Championships in2013. She alsowon a hattrick of titles at the Asian Grand Prix, 2013.

She created a Meet record in the trials of CWG 2014. She is one of the medal hopes.

Pinki is a boxing sensation who wasselected for the Commonwealth Games 2014 Indian team after ousting Olympic Bronze medallist and five-timeWorld Champion - Mary Kom.

Pinki is ranked 2nd in the world in the latestAIBA rankings inthe45-48 kg category.
