India enter Quarterfinals - Squash World championships

Harinder Pal Singh Sandhu lead the way for an Indian victory against Denmark to book a place in the quarterfinals at the World Men’s Squash championship being held at Paderborn, Germany. This is only the 2nd time in the past 3 decades that India has reached this stage. The last time was in 2005 when the event was played at the Indian Squash Academy in Chennai.
Harinder from the start until the end dominated the match moving his opponent Morten Sorensen at will. Morten certainly looked in some disscomfort after his marathon match yesterday against his Pakistani. Harinder kept the pressure to win convincingly dropping only 15 points.
Saurav’s win confirmed India’s place in the quarter finals but he certainly had to work hard for it. Having won the first two games comfortably, it seemed that he let his guard down. Kristian came back to win the third and pushed Saurav until the end of the fourth. At 9-9 Saurav played 2 controlled rallies to confirm victory.
The results:
Harinder Pal Singh Sandhu bt Morten Sorensen 11-6, 11-1, 11-8
Saurav Ghosal bt Kristian Frost Olesen 11-6, 11-5, 9-11, 11-9
Tomorrow India play Australia in the quarterfinals at 1800 German time.
