Joshna out of WISPA British Open Squash Championship

India’s Chinapa Joshna (world number 35) crashed out of the $53,000 British open. Joshna lost to Moverly (Britain) who is ranked 16 places below her by 12-10, 10-12, 11-7, 11-9. The British under 23 champion was more than happy to defeat a higher seeded player.

In an onother battle world number 32 Saurav Ghosal is competing in $92,500 PSA men’s division and will take on second seed Gregory Gaultier of France in the opening round.

India is holding a USD 6,000 PSA Indian Challenger # 3 and USD 4000 WISPA Indian Challenger # 1 events in Chennai from September 7 to 12, 2009.

India has a total of 19 players in the PSA & WISPA rankings for the 1st time ever.
