Nicol David clinches Cayman Islands Open Title

Nicol David of Malaysia, the reigning champion beat Jenny Duncalf of England in the final to clinch the Cayman Islands title. It took just 32 minutes for squash champion to defeat her rival Jenny Duncalf by 11-8, 11-8 and 11-4.

Though it looks a convincing victory for Nicol as she won all the three matches, Duncalf put up a brave fight. Duncalf played a beautiful volley kill to put score as 9-8 in the first match. But, she was soon overpowered by David who also played a volley kill to put the match in her favor.

The second match was also a tight one with Nicol struggling for a convincing win with the score 7-all and was put on the back foot by Duncalf who again brought it to 9-8. But then, the two perfect lengths from Nicol in the backhand corner helped her win the match and the title.

The third match was pretty easy for her as she won the match by 11-4. Though Jenny was able to score a few points, she was never able to keep her grip in the match.

Nicol after defending her championship said that she is looking forward for World Open in 2012.
