Wimbledon champion Andy Murray who has been on a high after his Wimbledon feat, has also been heaped with accolades and praise. But he would not have imagined that his heroics would actually inspire

a new dance form called ‘The Pride of Dunblane’.

Several dancers showed up for the first performance of the dance which is set to the Wimbledon theme tune.

John Carswell, who came up with the idea said

“I was watching Murray in the semis and just got the feeling that he would go on to win it so I thought that something should be done to honour this.

“I mentioned it to Ian [Brockbank, composer of the dance] and we both agreed that it was a crazy idea but that we could do something with it.”

The dance has also been approved by the governing body of the Royal Scottish Dancing Society (RSCDS).
