Sania Mirza seeded second for Mixed Doubles at Wimbledon

Sania Mirza along with her Romanian partner Horia Tecau have been seeded second for the mixed doubles event at Wimbledon. Mirza had previously partnered Robert Lindstedt at the French Open but had failed to progress past the opening round.

Meanwhile, Rohan Bopanna along with Chinese Jie Zheng have been seeded 7^th for the Championships. Jie Zheng’s Chinese compatriot Saisai Zheng has paired up with Indian tennis veteran Leander Paes and the duo have been seeded 15^th. Mahesh Bhupathi is the only unseeded Indian in the mixed doubles category.

Bhupathi has paired up with Slovakian Daniela Hantuchova and will start his campaign against the pairing of Mark Knowles and Sabine Lisicki. Bhupathi-Hantuchova could face a tough 2^nd round encounter against the Pakistani-Zimbabwean duo of Aisam-ul Haq Qureshi and Cara Black.

The seeded teams have received a first round bye for the championships.
