Reports claim Marin Cilic has failed a drug test

Reports in Croatia claim world number 15 Marin Cilic has failed a drugs test.

Cilic allegedly failed the test due to “incautious use of glucose” after using a product that came with a written warning on the label to all sports people, according to Jutarnji list.

The International Tennis Federation also denied to make any comments on the issue.

Cilic withdrew from his second-round match against Kenny De Schepper at SW19 citing a knee injury, but the reports reveal that he had to retract as he was tested positive for drugs.

The former world number 7 has won three singles tiles and five doubles titles since he turned professional in 2002. Popularly named as the ‘baby-faced Goran’ after his compatriot Goran Ivanisevic, Ancic reached the semi-finals at Wimbledon in 2004.

Viktor Troicki, World No 56, was banned for 18 months on Friday, as he refused to provide a blood sample during the Monte Carlo Masters in April.
