Erin Andrews, the sportscaster and wife of hockey player Jarret Stoll, recently opened up about her battle with cervical cancer and the toll it took on her and her family. Andrews was diagnosed in September 2016, during the football season, and she recalled feeling shocked, fearful, and crying when she heard the news.

"It's a lot, but to be honest with you, it could've been a lot worse, and it could've gone a different way," she said in a 2019 interview with Entertainment Tonight.

Despite having two surgeries, Erin Andrews was determined to keep working and not slow down. She got right back to work with the support of her husband, Jarret Stoll.

"The coolest part about it is, my husband is an athlete, and I love the fact that he's so competitive, and he thinks of it as an athlete," Andrews explained. "We got this. It made conversations about having babies very real and candid for him and our life and everything. So he was amazing."

Now cancer-free, Erin Andrews admits she's still worried about the future but is using her platform to encourage all women to visit their doctor for Pap and HPV tests to screen for cervical cancer.

"But what feels better about the whole thing is [that] now I've decided to be public about the whole thing and decided to share my story. I'm a voice for a disease, for cancer, that wasn't being talked about at all," she said.

Erin Andrews' story serves as a reminder of the importance of early detection and the strength and resilience of the human spirit.
