Allyson Felix is overjoyed by the delivery of her second child, Trey. This former track and field athlete is one of the best advocates when it comes to black mothers. After facing multiple challenges in her first pregnancy, Felix made sure her second pregnancy was more than perfect.

Felix shared a bunch of photos of her second child on Instagram, expressing what it means to her. All the pictures carry multiple moments of Felix's delivery.

The smooth pregnancy experience made the champion emotional. She penned an emotional note in her post, expressing gratitude for the beautiful experience of her second pregnancy.

After the scary experience of her first pregnancy, she revealed that she just wanted her and her son to survive.

"This journey!! After the traumatic and life threatening delivery I had with Cammy due to severe pre-eclampsia, the most important thing I wanted from this birth was for my son and I to survive. I'm so grateful to God that we did!" she wrote.

She also shared the whole experience with her doctor and her close ones during her delivery.

"I was blessed to have the unmedicated VBAC that I wanted so badly. Instead of sharing the usual challenges and traumas around birthing, I get to share the most beautiful, powerful, ridiculously hard yet insanely rewarding experience. My heart is bursting with gratitude because, this time it’s a story of joy and healing."

She added:

"Having a doctor who looked like me, understood my fear, listened and made me feel safe was everything! I simply could not have done it without my doula @chandlerchrista . She was the support and guide that I needed. She believed in me and encouraged me when I started to doubt myself. @doulalovescreation gave me the tools to be able to birth naturally using hypnobabies. My partner @supermanferg was my rock through it all."

Allyson Felix also cherished her advocacy for black women.

"My advocacy work around black maternal health will continue because every woman of color deserves to have the full experience of joy in birth, instead of the fear we are accustomed to. We are so madly in love with Trey," she wrote.

Allyson Felix's first pregnancy experience

The first pregnancy of Allyson Felix gave the track and field phenom an extremely traumatic experience. One of the most concerning issues that Felix faced was with Nike. The giant brand reduced her salary by 70% and asked her to be back as soon as possible to train after her delivery.

With this, she also kept her pregnancy a secret. Even while competing at meets, she was four months pregnant. The worst part of her first pregnancy was that doctors revealed Allyson Felix had high blood pressure and that her daughter's heart rate was slow.

She was suffering from severe pre-eclamosia and had to undergo an emergency C-section at 32 weeks. Just after this, her Nike sponsorship and her track career were at stake.

"I have always wanted to be a mom, and spent my life putting my career ahead of those personal decisions," she told Today in 2020.

Allyson Felix added:

"I feared how I might disappoint those who expected me to keep my career as top priority. But I knew what I wanted and it was time to put 'me' first."
