Future Endeavored: 4 Potential New GM Choices If Laurinaitis Is Fired

Tonight on the three-hour edition of Raw, the fate of current GM John Laurinaitis is held within the hands of Mr. McMahon. McMahon is known to strip people of his or her dignity, I mean look at examples of Shawn Michaels, Trish Stratus, and even his own wife Linda. Hearing the words “you’re fired” come from Vince McMahon is something only Vince knows how to articulate, no matter what Donald Trump says. If Laurinaitis were fired tonight, here are four potential choices I came up with as for replacements (these are in no particular order whatsoever):

1. Teddy Long

Known for being the ass of Big Johnny’s jokes in the past months before and after WrestleMania, Teddy Long has the qualified experience of being a General Manager. Though some say his run should have ended a while ago, Long has the advantage of being a fan favorite, and can deliver on quality matches, whereas Johnny plays favorites and makes the heel angle work. The WWE has not seen a face GM since Stephanie McMahon in 2003, and it would be a venture worth trying once more.

2. Edge

Since retiring, the WWE Universe has not seen a lot of Edge, and being the new GM would give Edge the perfect excuse to interact with the fans he worked so hard for to win over for so many years and entertain in his career. What makes Edge qualified is his psychological advantage, making him effective either as a heel or face GM with his unpredictability.

3. Stone Cold Steve Austin

Probably the most popular choice in some fans’ minds, Austin also brings that unpredictable nature to the job and also has the experience factor, as he was co-GM of Raw with Eric Bischoff in 2003. Austin’s philosophy of “law and order” in the WWE makes him a favorite in the eyes of many to either replace or stop Big Johnny’s reign of terror. Also, I think I speak for most fans when we say we want Good Ol’ JR back instead of wishy washy Michael Cole at the announcers desk to bring back that nostalgic feel of slobberknockers and puppies.

4. Triple H

Why not make the COO of WWE also the GM? It’s obvious that Triple H is in the decision-making process of Big Johnny’s reign as it was the chaos of Triple H that got Laurinaitis the interim position and then eventually the permanent spot. I’m not saying Triple H isn’t qualified, but play this hand at your own risk, especially if rumors are true of Lesnar/HHH at Summerslam.
