Sandeep Tulsi Yadav wins maiden Bronze medal for India in Greco Roman style

Sandeep Tulsi Yadav becomes the first Indian man to win a Bronze medal in Greco Roman category at the World Wrestling Championship, which is being held in Budapest, Hungary.

Sandeep reached the repechage finals of 66kg category after he lost in the quarter-finals.

Sandeep overcame Swedish Sharur Vardanyan 6-4 in the repechage encounter to face Serbian Aleksandar Maksimovic in the final, which he won to claim the Bronze medal.

Other representatives from India, Chhikara and Naveen exited the competition after losing their opening bouts. Meanwhile, Yadav fell prey to Han-Su Ryu of South Korea in the quarterfinals.
