WWE Raw 13/2/2012 will emanate from San Diego, California. We already know that Shawn Michaels will be making his return to deliver a special message to his friend Triple H. However, the Internet Wrestling Community is abuzz that 2 other WWE Superstars are also likely to make this comeback this week. If recent reports are to be believed, Rey Mysterio and Alberto Del Rio are expected to return to WWE action in the near future.
Rey Mysterio
WWE Raw takes place in San Diego, California – hometown of Rey Mysterio, which has led to the rumors of his comeback. Rey Mysterio has been out of action for a while since August 2011 due to a recurring knee injury. He recently updated his status through a youtube video in which he had suggested that he was expecting to make his return in time for Wrestlemania 28. With less than 50 days to go for the grandest stage of them all, Rey Mysterio is expected to be back in action very soon. This would give ample time to the WWE to build a feud around Rey, leading up to a Wrestlemania match. While there were initial plans for a Rey Mysterio vs Sin Cara match at Wrestlemania, Sin Cara’s ill-timed injury a few months ago cancelled out all such plans. It will be interesting to see what Rey Mysterio does after making his return.
Alberto Del Rio
Another WWE superstar of Mexican heritage – Alberto Del Rio, is also expected to make his return on Raw. Alberto Del Rio has been out for several weeks due to a groin injury. He had undergone surgery and is recuperating currently. According to F4Wonline, Alberto Del Rio was involved in a arm wrestling match with Sheamus at a WWE live event, last saturday. This suggests that he isn’t completely fit for any sort of in-ring action in the near future. However, rumors suggest that Del Rio will be on Raw and will have minimal activity without taking too much risk. With Shawn Michaels making a comeback of sorts, I wonder if Alberto Del will interfere Michaels and question him regarding the sweet chin music that he received a year ago. I’m just saying, and I do not think that WWE will book it in this fashion.
Wrestlemania is just a few weeks away and it would be apt for these two men to make their return this week or in the very near future, if they are to be involved in a match at Wrestlemania. Last year, both these men were involved in matches on the grandest stage of them all. While Del Rio used his Royal Rumble victory to get featured in the World Heavyweight Championship match against Edge, Rey Mysterio battled with Cody Rhodes in a singles match. Will they feature in the card of this years Wrestlemania? If so, who will they face? We may get answers for these nagging questions on this weeks Raw.
