Champion vs Champion match (Non-Title)
The WWE Champion and the World Heavyweight Champion will collide in a singles match which will be the main event of this Super Smackdown. A few weeks ago on Raw, these two men put on a great match for more than 10 minutes, only to be interrupted by Chris Jericho, which resulted in a disqualification victory for Daniel Bryan. This time, Smackdown will play host to this exciting match which will certainly be a treat to watch.
Sheamus on choosing his Daniel Bryan as his Wrestlemania opponent
We may hear from the 2012 Royal Rumble winner – Sheamus, for the first time since he picked Daniel Bryan as his Wrestlemania opponent. Besides, he will certainly have an impact on the Champion vs Champion match between CM Punk and Daniel Bryan.
Wade Barrett’s unfortunate injury
Wade Barrett has suffered a dislocated elbow which may take him out of action temporarily. He may miss Wrestlemania, but he is fortunate that it didn’t turn out to be a career threatening injury. The spot looked really bad as he was thrust into the announcers desk by a flying Dolph Ziggler, thrown out of the ring by the Big Show. He was in excruciating pain and was immediately attended to by WWE doctors on the spot. Let’s hope that Barrett comes back strong after recuperating from his injury. It will be interesting to see how the top brass of WWE react to this situation on Smackdown. Will they pull him out as such, one will they play out an angle to take him out of action.
Big Show – Cody Rhodes saga
Cody Rhodes had cost the victory for the Big Show on two separate occasions within the last 48 hours. Firstly, he pinned Big Show to eliminate him from the Smackdown Elimination Chamber match. Secondly, he helped Chris Jericho to eliminate Big Show, thereby costing the Big Show an opportunity to main event Wrestlemania. All these happenings will likely lead to a feud between these two guys. We can expect a confrontation between Big Show and Cody Rhodes on Smackdown.
Santino Marella is on a high
The absence of Randy Orton – the top face of Smackdown, is turning out to be a blessing in disguise for Santino Marella, a genuine wrestler who is being used only for comic relief in the past. He is being pushed really well. He got to be crowd favorite at Elimination Chamber and yesterday too, the spotlight was on him in the 10 man battle royal match. Will this push for Santino continue on Smackdown?
Teddy Long out of his job?
With John Laurinaitis closing in on his heels to become the joint manager of Raw and Smackdown, Teddy Long is currently in a desparate situation to save his job.
