WWE live event results Albuquerque, NM (12/2/16)

The fans in Alburquerque were in for a treat

WWE’s holiday tour continued with the RAW roster stopping over in Albuquerque for a house show. All the titles of the red brand were on the line apart from other matches that constituted the card.

The main event saw Roman Reigns put his United States title on the line against the man he is scheduled to face at Roadblock, WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens. Seth Rollins also faced off against his Roadblock opponent in Chris Jericho. Another major takeaway was Big Show’s return to in-ring action and the teaser of a new feud in the making. So without further adieu, here are the results and highlights from the show:

#1 Bayley and Alicia Fox vs. Dana Brooke and Nia Jax (Emma as special guest referee)

The women kicked off the in-ring proceedings of the night with a decent tag team match. Emma continued to play the special guest referee’s role on tour, as the babyfaces got the win over the heels in a fun match. Unsurprisingly, Bayley was the most over among the talents involved.

Result: Bayley and Alicia Fox def. Dana Brooke and Nia Jax via pinfall

#2 Sami Zayn, Golden Truth, Neville and Sin Cara vs. Bo Dallas, Curtis Axel, Titus O’Neil and The Shining Stars

A filler match featuring the rest of the roster followed that women’s match. The 10-man tag team match ended with the babyfaces coming out on top. This was an entertaining match that had its fair share of spots and comedic moments.

The fans were hot for Sami Zayn in the match.

Result: Sami Zayn, Golden Truth, Neville and Sin Cara def. Bo Dallas, Curtis Axel, Titus O’Neil and The Shining Stars via pinfall

#3 The New Day vs. The Club vs. Enzo & Cass vs. Sheamus & Cesaro (WWE RAW Tag Team Championship)

The first title bout of the night saw the New Day defend the straps against three other top teams of the RAW brand. The match lived up to expectations as the four teams put on an excellent match with a frenzied finish.

Apart from Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, all the superstars elicited a favorable response from the fans in attendance; Enzo and Cass especially.

Result: New Day def. The Club, Enzo & Cass and Sheamus & Cesaro via pinfall to retain the WWE RAW Tag Team Titles

#4 The Big Show vs. Rusev

The Worlds Largest Athlete made a return to the live event scene in a match against the Bulgarian Brute. Rusev’s miserable run continued as he ended up losing the battle of the big men.

Big Show last competed at a house show in a bodyslam challenge match against Braun Strowman. Rumors suggest that Big Show would be returning to television as soon as next month in the lead up to Royal Rumble and WrestleMania 33.

Result: Big Show def. Rusev via pinfall

#5 Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte (WWE RAW Women’s Championship)

These two women brought the house down again with yet another classic match-up. The Boss defended the title for the first time since she regained the title this past week on RAW from her arch nemesis.

Sasha Banks did her bit in getting the fans behind her while Charlotte drew heat like a boss.

Result: Sasha Banks def. Charlotte via submission to retain the RAW Women’s Championship

#6 Seth Rollins vs. Chris Jericho

This match was a warm-up encounter before the two clash at Roadblock. Considering the talent the two possess, this was a great bout which was pretty similar to the ones they’ve put together on RAW in the past month.

The Architect thwarted Y2J’s challenge and gave the fans a possible preview of the things to come at Roadblock. While Rollins garnered the customary babyface cheers, Jericho too was quite over despite being the heel.

Result: Seth Rollins def. Chris Jericho via pinfall

#7 Roman Reigns vs. Kevin Owens (WWE United States Championship match)

The champion vs champion match was contested for Reigns’ United States title. The motive behind the move was to facilitate a Roman Reigns victory, however sad that may sound. Nevertheless, the two champions put on a solid main event match for the fans at hand.

Reigns got a mixed response from the fans. Owens, on the other hand, got the necessary heel heat, he so masterfully draws.

Result: Roman Reigns def. Kevin Owens via pinfall to retain the WWE United States title
