According to "X" user FunnyBirdDari, Epic Games has two dozen potential themes in mind for Fortnite. The information was brought to light via a survey that was sent out to the concerned user. In it, the developers shortlisted numerous themes that could be implemented in-game in future seasons. The survey read as follows:

"Out of the following Genres and Topics, please select the ones which you would most like to see represented in new Seasons of Fortnite Battle Royale/Zero Build."

The information was also shared by veteran Fortnite leakers/data-miners iFireMonkey and HYPEX. Given their track record, it's safe to say that they have vouched for the authenticity of the survey. That being said, here is more information on the potential themes for future seasons.

Fortnite's future themes look rather interesting and will make for unique storylines

As showcased in the survey, there are 29 themes that Epic Games is considering exploring. Since the survey is an MCQ, users who partake can select more than one theme. While there is guarantee that the selected themes or the ones with the most votes will be implemented, it serves as a popularity marker and helps the developers make a more informed choice.

That being said, here is the list of themes that Epic Games is considering implementing for future seasons:

  • Horror
  • Greek Mythology
  • Ancient Civilizations
  • Cyberpunk
  • Detective/Crime
  • Anime/Manga
  • Wild West
  • Celebrities
  • Historical
  • Cars/Racing
  • Professional Sports
  • Superheroes
  • Nostalgic
  • Musicians
  • Post-apocalyptic
  • Military/War
  • Video Game Characters
  • Streamers
  • Science Fiction
  • Dinosaurs/Prehistoric
  • Martial Arts
  • Real-Life Fashion
  • Cartoon Characters
  • Norse Mythology
  • Animals
  • Steampunk
  • Food/Mascots
  • Medieval Fantasy
  • Extreme Sports (e.g. Skateboarding)

While the majority of these themes are new and rather alluring, some have been featured in-game partially in certain ways.

For instance, horror was the underlying theme every year for Fortnitemares. Greek Mythology is currently the ongoing theme for Chapter 5 Season 2. Ancient Civilizations was sort of brought to life during Chapter 4 Season 3 when the Jungle Biome was added to the map.

A Military/War season was introduced in Chapter 3 Season 2 (The Seven versus Imagined Order). Lastly, a post-apocalyptic theme is speculated to arrive in Chapter 5 Season 3.

That said, since the survey was just released, whatever Epic Games has planned will not be featured in-game this year. Given that development takes planning and time, these will likely be implemented sometime during Chapter 6 and beyond.

Furthermore, since nothing of the sort has been mentioned in the leaked Fortnite roadmap for 2024, it can be said with some certainty that these themes are at the ideation stage. Nevertheless, some of them are rather interesting and will make for a fun season in the near future.
