The 6-foot 8 power forward, Alex Karaban plays collegiate ball for the UConn Huskies. In his two years with the Huskies, Karaban has been a two-time back-to-back NCAA champion. Karaban decided to withdraw from the 2024 NBA Draft and is in pursuit of a three-peat with the Huskies.


As a four-star recruit, Karaban committed to play college basketball for UConn over offers from Iowa and Stanford. In his freshman year, Karaban averaged 9.3 points and 4.5 rebounds per game, shooting 40.2% from deep on 4.2 attempts per game. His performances earned him a place on the Big East All-Freshman Team.


In the 2022/23 NCAA March Madness, Karaban played a crucial role in the Huskies' pursuit of the NCAA title. In the Elite Eight, Karaban recorded 12 points, four rebounds, and one block in a win against Gonzaga. In the Final Four against the Miami Hurricanes, he tallied eight points and nine rebounds, knocking down two three-pointers. In the finals, Karaban contributed five points, five rebounds, and three crucial blocks in a 59-76 win against San Diego State.


In his sophomore year, Karaban started and played in all 39 games, averaging 13.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, and shooting 37.9% from deep on 5.5 attempts per game. During March Madness, Karaban scored 14 points, grabbed eight rebounds, blocked two shots, and made two three-pointers against Alabama to lead the Huskies to the Finals. In the Finals, he recorded five points, six rebounds and four assists in their championship victory against Purdue.


Alex Karaban is a solid team player and an efficient shooter from deep. He could also make baseline cuts and finish at the rim. Karaban has played a solid role in rebounding and scoring second-chance points at the rim.
