His professional basketball journey included stints with KK Hemofarm (2006–2010), CSKA Moscow (2010–2011), Žalgiris (2011), Nizhny Novgorod (2011–2012), and Mega Vizura (2012–2013). At Mega Vizura, he was named the MVP of the Serbian League, solidifying his status as an elite player.

His European success continued with Crvena Zvezda (2013–2015), where he competed in the prestigious EuroLeague, often called the world's second best basketball league after the NBA. Marjanovic had an immensely successful two years in EuroLeague which included setting then-EuroLeague record for the most double-doubles in a season with 16.

Marjanovic's exceptional performance earned him a spot on the Ideal Team for the 2014–15 ABA League season, and he was also named the MVP of the ABA League playoffs. The accolades didn't stop there. In May 2015, he was selected for the prestigious All-EuroLeague First Team. Boban Marjanovic's success in European basketball laid the foundation for his subsequent journey in the NBA.

The transition to the NBA happened when the San Antonio Spurs signed him. Since then, Marjanovic has not only been known for his on-court skills in the NBA but also for his fun-loving and gentle personality.
