An Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year and Lute Olson Award winner in college, Cameron Payne is a professional basketball player from the United States. A two-time First-team All-OVC in 2014 and 2015, he plays as a point guard and shooting guard for the Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA.

He played collegiate basketball for Murray State and was named OVC Freshman of the Year. He decided to declare himself for the 2015 NBA Draft following his sophomore year. Playing high school basketball for Lausanne Collegiate School, he led them to the 2013 Division II State title.

He made his NBA debut against the Denver Nuggets while playing for the Oklahoma City Thunder. He scored 29 points, three rebounds, seven assists and one block against the Golden State Warriors to register his career best on November 16, 2022. He has scored 20+ points in a game 14 times in his NBA career and a double-double eight times in his career. Payne has been part of the NBA finals one time, and he will try to repeat that feat with his current team this season.

Cameron Payne Trade

The Philadelphia 76ers sent Patrick Beverly and acquired Cameron Payne from the Milwaukee Bucks with a 2027 second-round pick. Including the Philadelphia 76ers, Payne has played for six NBA teams since he was drafted in the 2015 NBA Draft.

He was picked by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round as the 14th overall pick. He has played for the Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers, Phoenix Suns, and Milwaukee Bucks before joining the Philadelphia 76ers. He has also played in the NBA G league for Oklahoma City Blue, Windy City Bulls and the Texas Legends. Payne also played overseas in the Chinese Professional basketball league for Shanxi Loongs.

His 6 feet 0.75 inches height allows him to deliver precise passes, thereby increasing his assists, and a wingspan of 6 feet 7.25 inches and a standing reach of 8 feet 1.5 inches enhances his gameplay at both ends of the court.
