Osman declared for the NBA draft in the 2015 NBA season. He was selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves as the 31st overall pick. However, due to his draft rights being transferred to the Cleveland Cavaliers, Osman joined the Cavaliers in their attempt to secure a championship. After Lebron James decided to leave the Cavaliers for the Los Angeles Lakers in 2018, the Cavaliers decided to rebuild their team with Osman as their central player. This cemented his near future with the team as the Cavaliers gave Osman a two-year extension on his contract.

Osman is now playing his 7th season in the NBA as a part of the San Antonio Spurs after being traded from the Cavaliers in a three-team trade, as of March 2024. Osman continues to develop himself as a key player on the Spurs’ roster playing alongside the rookie, Victor Wembenyama.
