Golden State Warriors center DeMarcus Cousins suffered a quadriceps injury and did not return against the Los Angeles Clippers in Game 2 of the Western Conference first-round playoffs.

Cousins left Monday's NBA clash in the opening quarter after he fell chasing down a loose ball on a fast break at Oracle Arena.

The four-time All-Star exited for the locker room and was ruled out shortly after. He will have an MRI within the next 24 hours to determine the severity of the injury.

Cousins made his first career playoff appearance in the Warriors' 121-104 victory over the Clippers on Saturday.

The 28-year-old posted nine points, nine rebounds and four assists in the contest.

Cousins joined Golden State this offseason, signing a one-year, $5.3million deal with the two-time defending champions.
