Orlando Magic has superb young talents in their squad, with Franz Wagner and Paolo Benchoro leading from the front. They both were in the NBA All-Rookie First Team selection and hold the potential to create a promising future for the team in the near future.

The German forward has appeared in all 79 games for the team in his debut year, and with an average playing time of 30 minutes, he posted 15.2 ppg, and 2.9 assists per game with a pin-point accuracy of 46.8 percent on the floor. The best performance was seen by the forward on December 9th against the Toronto Raptors, where he played an impressive 34 points game-play.

In the EuroBasket of 2022, Germany was landed with the same roster as of right now for the FIBA World Cup which includes Dennis Schroder, Daniel Theis, Isaac Bonga, and brothers Mo Wagner and Franz Wagner. The team won the Bronze medal after defeating Portland, and Franz was leading the tally for Germany by averaging 16.1 ppg.

Franz Wagner, Team Germany

Coach Gordon Herbert, has started from the forward in the practice matches for the upcoming World Cup. In their first match against the team Canada, he scored an important 18 points and snagged four steals. This was a crucial win, which boosted the team’s morale as Canada is loaded with decent numbers of NBA players in their line-up.

Franz has a good size, with a decent wingspan of 6 ‘11’’. Additionally, he carries insane energy on the floor, and if the energy is channelized well, he can be a threat in the future. Earlier he has also represented his country in the U16, and U18 European championships and assisted the team in finishing in the 13th and 11th positions.

Franz’s elder brother Mo Wagner also plays for the Orlando Magic and the German National Team. They both are also on the official roster of Germany for the FIBA Basketball World Cup.

The team will play their first match of the competition against Japan on August 25.

Germany is placed in the group E, alongside Japan, Australia, and Finland. The team has to finish in the top two in Europe in order to make a place in the 2024 Paris Olympics Games.
