Terquavion Smith’s high school career

Smith attended Farmville Central High School in Farmville, North Carolina where he played for his high school varsity team in his freshman and senior year. In his freshman year, Smith played 10 games averaging 21.6 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists. His best game in his freshman year was on December 12th, against AGHS where he scored 30 points to lead his team to a 64-58 victory. In his senior year, Smith became a polished and established player in his high school, averaging 25.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 5.7 assists while being one of the best players in his class. He played 15 games, leading his team to a 15-0 record highlighted by a 50-point performance against TA leading his school to a 86-78 victory. Smith finished his high school career averaging 23.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 3.7 assists, a very efficient outing in his two seasons there. After his senior year, Smith committed to playing for the NC State Wolfpack.

Terquavion Smith's college career

After joining NC State, Smith started 25 of his first 32 games there averaging 16.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game. He made 96 three-pointers in his freshman season, the fourth most by a freshman in the ACC. In his sophomore season, Smith has upped his scoring to 17.9 points and his assists to 4.1 a game. He made the 2022-23 all-ACC first team and also made the 2022-23 all-tourney. He was also an ACC all-freshman. In a game against Coppin State, Smith led his team with 33 points leading NC State to a much-needed win. After his freshman season, Smith initially declared for the 2022 draft but withdrew his name and returned to NC State for his sophomore year. Smith is expected to be a mid to late first-round pick in the 2023 NBA draft.
