Kevin "KD" Durant, is a power forward with the Phoenix Suns in professional basketball. Durant is regarded as one of the greatest players in NBA history, having won two NBA titles in 2017 and 2018, been selected to 11 All-NBA teams, won two MVP awards for the Finals, two for the NBA All-Star Game, four NBA scoring titles, the NBA Rookie of the Year Award, and 14 NBA All-Star selections. Born in Washington, D.C., on September 29, 1988, he was a highly sought-after high school prospect. Durant says that, if the NBA hadn't implemented the one-and-done rule, he would have declared for the 2006 NBA draft.

Playing college basketball for the Texas Longhorns for one season in 2006–07, Durant became the first freshman to win Naismith College Player of the Year and won multiple year-end honors. Durant was selected as the second overall pick by the Seattle SuperSonics (Oklahoma City Thunder) in the 2007 NBA draft. He played nine seasons with the franchise and later signed with the Golden State Warriors in 2016. He won consecutive NBA championships and NBA Finals MVP Awards in 2017 and 2018. The following season, he joined the Brooklyn Nets; however, following disagreements, he requested a trade during the 2022 offseason and was traded to the Suns in 2023.
