Kyrie Irving is a professional basketball player for the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA. He is 6 feet 2 inches tall and plays at the Point Guard/ Shooting Guard position alongside fellow NBA superstar Luka Doncic. Irving attended the Montclair Kimberly Academy in Montclair, New Jersey initially and later moved to St. Patrick School in New Jersey. His father, Drederick Irving was also a professional basketball player and played for the Bulleen Boomers in the South East Australian Basketball League in Australia.

Irving was drafted with the first overall pick in the first round of the 2011 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers. He averaged 19.0 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game as a rookie and took home the Rookie of the Year award. The following season, he teamed up with NBA star Lebron James to bring a title home to the Cleveland Cavaliers, the first one for the team. The Cavaliers bounced back from a 3-1 deficit in the Finals against the Golden State Warriors to win the series and ultimately the Championship.

He later transferred to St. Patrick High School and averaged 17.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game for them. His heroics won him a nomination in the 2010 McDonald’s All-American team and also in the 2010 Jordan Brand Classic. Post high school, Irving decided to join the University of Duke to continue his collegiate career.
