The 6-foot-3 veteran guard, Marcus Smart plays for the Memphis Grizzlies in the NBA as of October 2024. He was drafted sixth overall pick by the Boston Celtics in the 2014 NBA Draft. Since being drafted, Smart has played over 600 matches in his NBA career and established himself as one of the best perimeter defenders in the league. He has made three All-Defensive first teams while also winning the 2022 Defensive Player of the Year award. He broke the 26-year drought and became the first guard to win the DPOY since Gary Payton won in 1996.

Smart played a vital role in Celtic's resurgence and helped them make their first NBA Finals since 2008 in 2022. He played 581 games for the franchise and averaged 10.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.6 steals per game. He also became the second player in Celtics history to win the DPOY since Kevin Garnett won in 2008. In his tenure with the Grizzlies, Smart will play as a veteran to young guards in Ja Morant and Desmond Bane while providing valuable contributions throughout the 2024-25 NBA seasons.
