Michael Porter Jr. is a professional basketball player who plays for the Denver Nuggets in the NBA. He was born on June 29, 1998, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Standing at an impressive 6'10" with a lethal shooting touch, he started playing basketball at Father Tolton Regional Catholic High School and then transferred to Nathan Hale High School in Seattle. During his final year of high school, Porter Jr. led his team to the Washington Class 3A State Championship. After graduating, Porter Jr. joined the University of Missouri in 2017, where he began his college basketball career.

However, his time at Missouri was cut short due to a major lower back injury that sidelined him for a significant portion of the 2017-18 season. Despite this setback, Porter Jr. returned to the court in March 2018, participating in the SEC and NCAA Division I men's basketball tournaments before ultimately deciding to forgo his remaining college eligibility and declare for the 2018 NBA draft. In the 2018 NBA Draft, Michael Porter Jr. was selected as the fourteenth overall pick by the Denver Nuggets.
