Russell Westbrook III is an American professional basketball player who plays as a point guard for the Denver Nuggets as of May 2025. He played for the UCLA Bruins men's basketball team, which represents the University of California, Los Angeles. In 2008, Westbrook was named the Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Year. He was named to the Pac-10 All-Defensive Team and the Third-team All-Pac-10 in 2008.
Westbrook was selected as the fourth overall pick in the first round of the 2008 NBA Draft by the Seattle SuperSonics (now known as the Oklahoma City Thunder). He later played for the Houston Rockets, the Washington Wizards, the Los Angeles Lakers, and the Los Angeles Clippers as of May 2025. Westbrook was named the NBA Most Valuable Player in 2017. He was named nine times to the NBA All-Star (2011–2013, 2015–2020).
